Rapid decline in the lightcurves of luminous supernovae by jet-driven bipolar explosions

ABSTRACT We calculate the lightcurves of jet-driven bipolar core collapse supernova (CCSN) explosions into a circumstellar matter (CSM) and show that an equatorial observer finds to possess rapid, even abrupt drop. The scenario might lead such explosive morphology is common envelope evolution (CEE), where shortly before CCSN explosion red-supergiant progenitor interacts with more compact companion spirals-in spins-up core. can be main sequence star, neutron or black hole. binary interaction ejects shell through intensive wind CEE denser gas in plane. assume accretes mass launches jets. conduct three-dimensional (3D) hydrodynamical simulations we launch weak jets, shaping dense forms CSM. As result rapid pre-collapse rotation jets drive explosion. simulate CSM use simple scheme lightcurves. drop lightcurve not too close polar directions account for hydrogen poor luminous (LSN) SN 2018don.
